No, because we definitely wouldn't want peace because there would be no progress and nothing to struggle for. What we are really looking for is a world with non-violence where we solve our conflicts and disputes diplomatically without going to war. That is a world in which there is till conflict but it is never violent and the opposite of peace is not war it is creation! It is completely possible to be non-violent, but to always agree on everything that would make us all the same and that kills diversity. To address the question of human nature. Humans are not inherently hateful, violent, or mean that's what we have been taught in our culture, there have been cultures in which this was not the case it merely requires some thoughtful research into ancient societies. Human nature is not fixed we are not bron a certain way it is mutable and we are programmed by our culture to behave in certain ways deemed culturally appropriate. The argument that humans are by nature violent has no real grounds because it will always be biased by a cultural viewpoint that see's violence as inevitable (such as ours here in the U.S.) Therefore we will always assume all humans are violent even when presented with evidence to the contrary. Humans are very capable of loving one another we see it happen all the time if we dain to look beneath the surface of things. We have had political struggles that have challenged racism, homophobia, sexism and so on all of which stem from a consciousness of love. I fully assert that humans are extremely loving creatures and that we can develop that side of our "nature".

It will never happen in my lifetime. As long as there are greedy or hatefull or envious people there will be conflict.

All the wars that the USA has been in in this century except the 2 world wars have been for some kind of economic gain... GREED. The Iraqi war is the greed for oil, so will be the Iran war if W gets his way. It's shamefull to thinking, caring people.

I will keep trying.

It's my #1 goal for the world to conquer. I don't think it's possible that it ever happens though (unless it becomes illegal for anyone in the world to publicly say something mean or prejudiced. But no b/c the jails would get too full). So no I don't think it's possible but those who want to help can definitely do their part. We'll just have to do the best with what we've got.

The trouble with world peace is that humans tend to define themselves by conflicting interests.

Humans will not survive unless we overcome desperate economic problems such as glogal warming. I think we should all get together, whatever our nationality or religion, to fight for our environmental survival. If we can challenge our aggressive instincts to fight enviromental problems perhaps we can stop killing other human beings. And if we don't do this we will ALL be dead.

Conflicts over religion has caused more wars than anything else.
If we had one religion the world over, then peace would be possible. So I don't guess we will ever have world peace.

It is not possible. There are always bad people and the only way we can get rid of them is forcebly removing them. It would be nice but that won't happen on earth
