I think that myspace has some risks, but you just have to be careful. Don't talk with people you don't know. Also be careful about things that are posted on your page. Sometimes people can have enough details on their page to be easily tracked down. Its just like anything else in life....you must use caution. It is very sad to think that myspace could be outlawed because parents don't keep track of what their children are doing on the internet. Hopefully it never comes to that. It has been such a nice thing for me. I have found alot of old friends that I had not spoken to in years. I love myspace.

There's free publicity in every controversy, MySpace reached "critical mass" in that special area of popularity that opens the floodgates to deconstruction. It's only getting positive and negative attention just now because it is as popular as it has ever been. So to get the same attention, the media and politicians go after the attention sources, often attacking with scrutiny. And since this is a Mid-term election year, the House and Senate elections might use Myspace issue as a platform for voters.

Teens give out their real names, place they live...private information and other things, because parents don't know what's going on....Kids hide their myspace stuff from their parents and that is when you KNOW they are probley doing something wrong, and Im sorry friend, Adults can pose as children to gain the trust of a child. They are called preditors...-rolls eyes- Now if your parents KNOW what your doing online, and you've been taught internet safety there is NOTHING wrong with it, but when you lie, sneek and decieve people then YES there is something wrong with it...
And that is why the media is having a field day with them...

They make it seem as if myspace is a bad thing. Kids are learning about all the dangers of myspace, and they don't emphasize the ANY web journal can be dangerous like xanga and facebook. We hear so much about myspace nowadays.

It's not "bad" but it has been abused. Yes, teens have full control but they haven't been taught properly about predators and such. I don't think it's being preceived as bad, but it is getting some negative reports only because of all thats happened because of it... It should sound off an alarm in parents heads!

some selfishly nosey, uppity person who typically sits the kids in front of either their TV or the computer instead of actually sharing one another's lives decided to actually peek in and see what was entertaining them. maybe they saw some girl's boobs and it offended them. so, they decided that it would make them a neighborhood hero and they caused as much fuss as they could to protect (not children) but to protect parents from the realization that there's a whole world out there just waiting to be discovered. there kids have found it.

i really don't know why people talk to strangers and are stupid enough to meet these strangers if it weren't for the stupid people then i think myspace would be alot better.people can block other people and can approve and denie people from being their friend on myspace it's their choice and so it's their fault.
