If you are 12 and think that your parents are overprotective for not wanting you to date or have sex then you have issues. Being 12 you should be more worried about your education. Let's put it this way you are ready to have a sexual relationship when you are old enough and responsible enough to live on your own and to support a child along with yourself. Because if you cannot do that then us hard working families will be supporting you; a child, along with the child that you have a 80% chance of conceiving. So to answer your question..NO you are not ready to have sex and you should be glad that your parents give a darn and want you to have a prosperous life. So put a quarter between those knees. And talk to your parents, trust me and every other adult out there it is worth waiting.

Maybe they are overprotective for a reason. You are very young and having sex (which I assume is what you mean by "to do it") is a major choice. If you are not careful, you can get pregnant, and I'm sure you'd much rather have fun than carry a screaming baby around all the time. Not to mention, all your money would have to go to the baby because babies are very expensive. Also, by having sex or doing any sort of sexual activity, you could catch a Sexually Transmitted Disease. Those are not fun at all. I think you should hold off on your decision. If you still decide to do it, please visit Planned Parenthood. They can help you get the necessary things so you don't end up pregnant. This shouldn't have much to do with your family, it's a personal choice and very big decision to make. Good luck.

Your family doesnt have 2 know ERRthing u do. How do u know u are ready. U maybe just hit middle school and just out of elementary. Im not saying wait till u are married, but i dont think u are ready. U have sex with some 1 u care 4 , and some 1 who cares 4 u. 12? Your family should be over-protective. First off there are tooo many diseases out there and how would you like to be a teen with HIV or full blown AIDS, even if you think you are being careful, some people have gone without telling their own boyfriends or girlfriends they had it and HIV can be unseen for 10 years! My advice is wait until you are married, because the feeling of someone you love and you are married too, to be able to share that with them is something you won't regret, I did and I don't regret it. In my opinion going around sleeping with even 2 different guys makes you disgusting. Especially at your age. Don't fall under pressure that you need to have sex to be cool, because first off that's no 1's business second off it doesn't make you any cooler, guys just go around talking about how they got you already, making you seem used and trust me it WILL happen. Take my advice, my best friend was 12 the first time she did it, and guys went around talking about how they hit that anytime for free (a slut) she couldn't even be classified as hooker (they get paid). Under the pressure of people talking about her and thinking she was nasty, she ended being kicked out of school and moving away from her mom. You are still a child, even if you don't want to hear that. I am 15 and if i wasn't married with a baby on the way, i would sill be considered a child as well. But I waited till I got married and I wasn't one of those "typical pregnant teens" that doesn't know who the father is. Hope this helps and hope you wait.

I'm sorry but at 12 yrs old you don't have the mental capacity to even begin to understand the concequenses of a decision like this. You may think you're ready but I gaurentee you, you're not. There's no way in all heaven that you're ready for the physical and mental and emotional things this involves.
If you have sex you could get pregnat. Do you want to be another 12yr old mother?
If you have sex you could catch a dieses. You could catch herpes ( NO CURE ) you could catch HIV/AIDS ( NO CURE AND WILL KILL YOU ).....is that what you want? Don't you wanna be somebody in this world. Don't you want a decent future? Don't you like goin to the mall and the movies with your friends? If you get pregnat and have a baby you can kiss all that good bye.
