Why do people not understand that racial stereotypes are based off fact?

They are called GENERALIZATIONS. Of course not 100% of a race is all the same. But stereotypes exist for a reason, they arent just made up. "Asians are smart." Now of course not all are, but most. Also, they are always the ones who cant seem to drive well. Why is that insulting if its fact?????

"Blacks are loud and have poor vocabularies." Watch the WB on a Monday night and tell me if thats incorrect. I dont know why pointing out a differnce between people is considered racist.

Ok then, for my own race, WHITE PEOPLE CANT DANCE. Now of course there are professional dancers who are white, and some people who are white can dance very well. BUT IN GENERAL, we cant. There, I made fun of my own race, and im NOT CRYING TO ANYONE.

The problem is that they are very loosely based on fact. I am black, Jewish and middle class. I do not live in the 'hood, nor do the black people I am close to. I attended an accredited university and finished near the top of my class. I have moderate to conservative political views on some issues, and wildly liberal on others.

So if you can find a stereotype in all of that, you choose to take the lazy way out when it comes to relating to people. Take a chance get to know someone you think is so different from you. You may find you have more in common than you think.

personally i agree to some extent, people shouldn't get offended, unless that is, when people use those generalizations with the intent of belittling and insulting those who have not done anything wrong but are just part of that religion, race etc.
People should have a better sence of humor about these sort of things, i mean everyone's race has something that is bad, good, funny about it!
