This is a naive and childish question. If you could, even for an instant, imagine what it's like to be, to have been, or to know that your family has been historically discriminated against, you'd realize how unfounded your question is. There has never been racial equality between blacks and whites, and, arguably, there never will be. But whites have always been on the oppressor side, and blacks on the oppressed-- so for you to get offended about inequality is ridiculous and absurd.
I don't give a $hit if you've never been racist, just like blacks don't give a $hit about whether or not I am-- what matters is the $hit happened and continues to happen, and blacks aren't sticking it to whites by having black colleges.
Seriously, how dare you try to play the equality card. Whites have always enjoyed things blacks can't, and since they have black colleges and say ni&&a, you get all high and mighty about equality?
You're a toy.

I don't know. But, what most people don't realize is that those black colleges are still owned by white people. Those colleges were built for segregation. not because they thought black people should have something special for themselves. and white people can go to those schools. I'm sure there are plenty of schools that have little or no black people.
And why do people use BET as an example???? BET is owned by Viacom. The same people that own MTV, CBS, nickelodeon, VH1, damn near every cable channel. And guess what... they are NOT BLACK. They just see a way to make money off of the culture. Geeez... lets try knowing what we're talking about before bringing up ignorant examples.
And as far as black history month, ok... #1- does it really bother you? Its not like the world stops everything its doing to talk about black people. #2- its the shortest month of the year. #3- the history of white people is taught all day every day. including february. There is plenty of "white stuff" out there that black people don't really involve themselves with. I can make a list if you like. But, damn... let us have our "historically black colleges that white people are still more than welcome at", and our "black history month" that no one does anything for anyway. Its not that big of a deal.

There were all white colleges before all black colleges. Us African americans have come a long way and fought a battle they thought would never be won. African americans were denied many things including education. Now education is awarded and earned by many African americans and whites as well as other ethnic groups. We are a people of many colors and talents as well as history, and those so called black colleges are well deserved. Now if we could only get our generation to charish it as well as use it. Al Sharpton does have a heat miser hair do... lol

Welcome to a new America. Where the struggle for equality was accomplished, but over done to the point where everything whites do alone is "racist". But when another race does it, not only is it ok, it's excused by EVERYONE cause we "did it first, so why can't we?" ...It's no longer a issue of RACE it's who gets to get away with having isolated:organizations, schools, and neighborhoods, without everyone's prejudices being obvious. Oh well, guess I better get back to my mansion, and millions of dollars, and repress other colors daily, as I watch Fox News, while checking in on my stock investments...oh wait, I am a poor college student from a low-income family and work hard for everything I ever got ....whew...sorry for the rant, just kinda kept going.

Wow racism is jumping of the hook today.
Do you mean an all white skin people college? Will that college include white Latinos or mixed children that are white. Why not a college for only European decedents? That should keep your college white.
Hey I want an all brown skin colored college and white people would have to get a tan to get admitted.
I don't know how many more stupid racist questions I can take today!!!

We protect the rights of minorities because the rights of the majority are protected by the simple fact that the majority has the power. If you read the Bill of Rights with this idea in mind, you will see that that is what all the rights provided are about, protecting the weak from the powerful.
The powerful can protect themselves.
But I am not certain that a racially restricted school would be eligible for federal funds.

There is an all black college in Oklahoma. I think it is a good thing to preserve your culture and heritage. Sometimes the melting pot ...melts away at your culture. and this college is not owned by white people. It is not a conspiracy.
and whoisgod71 you can "prohibit from discrimination" by rule or law ...but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen
A group of people discussing race should not be called racist because they want to talk about it. It shouldn't be taboo to ask people what it is like to be in a different culture or race. We are all supposed to reach out and get to know each other but when we ask about another persons culture or race we are verbally slammed down and called a racist. That attitude doesn't promote harmony.

For some reason America likes to over do unnecessary appologies. I didn't have anything to do with slavery but it is expected that I turn the other cheek when it comes to Black colleges, black entertainment television etc. That is part of the blame as far as racism is concerned. Reverse segregation. I have nothing against anyone because of their skin color. There are white people I don't like.

Because there were several generations of all-white colleges. Minorities were not admitted. We as a group decided that was a bad idea. If minorities want to segregate themselves there's really nothing white people can do. Besides, we aren't going to be a majority for very long. Things have a natural way of balancing themselves out.

You're an idiot but I'll answer anyway. There are no black colleges or universities. There are historically black colleges and universities. Some are private and some are public and they were founded to give blacks access to higher education when the doors of other institutions that is all white schools were closed to them.
