80's B movie? About a serial killer that terrorizes a high school killing with odd objects?

I don't remember exact details,but I know one weapon of choice was an eggplant. They called the killer "The Breather". Help.

It was supposed to be scary but it was so funny. He would hide in obvious places, and breath really loud. Then you could see his thought pattern when he was choosing a weapon.
