Bear-naked is right. The candy will dissolve, but sugar does not dilute well in gasoline. however, some of the sugar could gum up the 'sock' (a metal mesh screen over the pickup tube for the fuel pump in your gas tank), as well as block up your fuel filter, which will starve the motor of the fuel it needs to run. It won't cause your engine to seize or blow up. Change your fuel filter, and try a decent fuel injector cleaner (Seafoam and BG-44K are good examples), to dissolve the sugar deposits. If that doesn't work, it may be likely that the gummy deposits have fouled up the fuel pump in the tank. Turn your ignition key on, your should hear the fuel pump whizzing at the back of the car for a few seconds (assuming you have a fuel-injected car, instead of one with a carbuerator). If all else fails, take the car to a competent mechanic.

Nothing really, it might slow a car down depending on how much is in the tank, but its unlikely. There's a screen thing (think of it as a really small strainer) at the end of a fuel pump that stops most larger items from getting sucked into the fuel system and secondly, there's a fuel filter that, in theory, cleans out what the little screen didn't.
It's more annoying than anything else because eventually, you should drop the gas tank and dump it out, but it won't destory an engine.

Unless they put a whole case of them or some other ridiculous quantity you will not know the difference. Sugar in the gas tank is a myth that has gained widespread acceptance and simply does not have any merit. Pepsi or Coke, etc.... in your tank will cause the car to quit running but will not harm the engine due to the fact that it will shut off, however it will cause you lots of grief due to having to clean your fuel system out and change the fuel filter.

putting candy in your gas tank is the same as putting sugar in your gas tank. it ruins the fuel-clogs the injectors or carb and creats a huge problem. get the tank drained before running the vehicle and u may be ok. otherwise you need to flush the tank, injection system or carb. its a old trick from years ago. call a repair station and they will tell you more. tow the vehicle-dont drive it.

Most filters (in-line or integral) will trap much of the sugar, as it
doesn't dissolve well in gasoline. The filter gets clogged and the
engine fuel-starves, usually. Was a part-owner of a motorcycle shop
and saw this firsthand several times. Never saw any valve train
"totaled" by sugar. You do get some funky baked-on deposits in your
combustion chambers...
May I suggest changing your fuel filter?

probably nothing, candy is water soluable , wont disolve in gas, niether will sugar but sugar is small enough to clog fuel filter, sugar in fuel is a myth only if your filter was missing would it even make it to the engine and then it would just clog injectors
