The name of the song we all think you mean is "We Are the World." The chorus starts: "We are the world... we are the children."
There were almost 2 dozen singers on that song! And then about that many more in the background
chorus.
Together they were called United Support of Artists for Africa... USA for Africa for short. The song "We Are the World" was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. The chorus of superstar singers was conducted by Quincy Jones. It was done to raise awareness and money for Ethiopian famine relief in 1985.
