If you like Tool, you'll like Rammstein. They sing in German usually, but their softer songs include "Ohne Dich" and "Mutter." Also, try Indian music. Their pop music's usually great.

And for all occasions, try "Dragostea Din Tei" by O-Zone. It's only the best song in the history of all songs.

There are some Burzum songs that are very slow and pulsating, but have a unique sort of ambient distorted tone. Added with keyboards and occasional drums. Its black metal meant for evening listening. It will put you in a trance, I suggest the song, "Tomhet" for you.

There weren't alot of "mellow" songs in the psychedelic days, I can tell you this! The most mellow I can think of if Jefferson Airplane. The others were pretty wild. Hope this helps....
