They added a decent receiver in Keyshawn and Deshaun Foster is healthy and they did very well last year. ALso the NFC appears to be up for grabs.

Two reasons. One is consistency. The Panthers were the NFC Conference champion in 2006 and made it as far as the 2004 NFC Conference championship game despite serious injury to key players (They lost to Seattle).
The second is a recent pattern where the LOSER of the one of the conference championship games appears in the Super Bowl the following season. Consider.
Pittsburgh lost the conference championship game in2004; won Super Bowl 40 the following season.
The Eagles lost the 2003 conference championship game; appeared in Super Bowl 39. (a loss to New England). Not always true, but the pattern holds often.
If you buy this, the next Super Bowl will be between Carolina and Denver. Both lost the conference championship game.

Critics are focusing on the strong defensive presence Carolina has built up (although losing Ricky Manning Jr. hurts that presence in the secondary). With Peppers, Rucker, and Morgan solidifying their lines, the defense will still be pretty rough on the running and short pass games. Also, with Jake Delhomme as a solid QB, Steve Smith and newly added Keyshawn Johnson as the #1 & 2 WRs, and a deep RB corp including DeShaun Foster, Nick Goings, and recently drafted DeAngelo Williams, the Carolina offense is in excellent shape to take the NCF South and establish a repeat run into the playoffs.

I think it is because they were favored to go to the Super Bowl last year and they almost made it until they got hit by Seattle. I am sure they will make another run for it this season.

Can someone please show some balls and pick a team that is not SEA or CAR on the NFC side or INDY/PITT/NE on the AFC side?
I'm picking Dallas/Denver for next year.

"NFL critics" don't know anything more than you or I do. Inform yourself and make your own decision. It's just a prediction anyway.
