"Twist and Shout" is a song originally by Phil Medley and Bert Russell. It was originally recorded by the Topnotes and the Isley Brothers.
Singer Cissy Houston had recorded the song as "Midnight Train to Georgia"

Twist and Shout - composed by Phil Medley/Bert Russell first appeared on Booker T & the MGs 1962 album "Green Onions". Note that this was an instrumental. The Isley Brothers also released an album in 1962 titled "Twist and Shout" with a vocal version.

Of course, the Beatle released their version in 1963 on "Introducing... the Beatles".
