Get rid of it if you can, but if not, there are tablets you can put in pools to eliminate mosquitoes from breeding there. Try your local hardware or farm supply store.

Here in Barbados standing water is a huge issue because our mosquitoes carry Dengy fever. Bleach works well, but the best solution is to use a "Larvacide"

quite simple...like someone already says put chlorine in it or make it poisonous...if you have kerosene oil that works too.
