yeah I think that younger children are not aware of the risk of the these sights. however the responsibility falls on the parents. They need to communicate with children their children, place barriers that safeguard those young children. In addition explain to the children what these barriers mean and show them examples of what can happen to children just like them. I understand that a parent can not be with children at all time. When at home place the computer in a area where is computer is in plain sight. If the child needs to work on a the computer and the parents are not at home for projects schedule library time for the child to have access so there are certain restrictions.
i recently have started to use myspace...for me it is a way to network, catch up with childhood friends and college buddies.

I agree that these kids give too much information about where they live but they're young and they have no clue what they should add or not to add. I also agree that it's a haven for sexual predators looking for young meat. Young girls and boys lie about their age and set up profiles that give away too much information about who they are and where they live.

I believe that whether there are predators on the sight or not, they are everywhere. I do NOT think it is the responsibility of myspace to police people as to who they can talk to, or parent these children. These parents seem to want to blame a lot of different things as to why they children are not right, myspace, television, music videos. These lawsuits are probably an attempt to cash in on the parent's lack of doing their job.

It's not myspace's fault that people are misusing it, and the young people that do use it should be monitored by their parents. I like the idea of myspace, and think we should stop blaming other people for what is really lack of parental communication and supervision. If parents raise their children in an involved manner, they would be able to help stop the sick people who are preying on them.
I know it's not an endall solution, but we can't blame myspace for the problem- that's like suing mcdonald's because you gained weight...we need to stop expecting the rest of the world to parent us.

No, I don't agree.
I love myspace...and they are doing all they can to protect kids.
Parents on the other hand need to take more control of their children and their activities.
Sexual predators can meet children in a park, a mall, a restroom, and even at church. It is the parents' responsiblity to make sure that nothing more happens.

I've been on for a few months but I don't give all my information out. For those kids that set up profiles with way too much information they should know better!
I also reject people that look creepy!

I totally agree with you. Honestly, that is one of the biggest chatting websites and it's very easy to meet someone you don't know and just give away all of your information. Has anyone like that contacted you on that?

yeh i agree, but at the same time those are the ppl who are allowing themselves to be sucked into all that. its really simple, follow the rules, be 14 or older, make sure you know everyone on your friends list, and block your profile that only your friends can see everything, so that you are preventing yourself from being viewed or stalked by those sexual predetors.

i agree with you.......but people can only find out information that you put out there for them to see. If you keep your private info to yourself you should not have a problem. and personaly, i have a problem with 2 people who don't know each other meeting in person on the net...
