Yes a leech's bite will hurt you if they are on your body. But in today's medicine, doctors are using leeches to draw bloods from a heart-attach patient. As a result of a leech's bite, the blood's fluidity will flow back from the patient's heart to the vains and back to normal again. Another science using leech is when for example a piece of body tissue is being cut-off, a doctor can stich the body tissue back. Then uses the leech to suck the blood from the main body back to the piece of body tissue, hence continuous flow of blood will rebounce.

I dont think so. They just suck blood like a tick. Some leeches are used for medicinal purposes.

To the best of my knowledge, all leeches have an anasthetic quality in their saliva.
This allows them to gather on flesh, en masse, without you even knowing that they are there.

Not really. They release a chemical when they bite that is an antiseptic, so you don't feel any pain. It might hurt if one had been attached for a while, and you ripped it off you.
