I was in my office pretending to be the secretary because ours was out sick. I work for a mental health agency and our office is located directly across from both the city and county emergency operations centers so things got kind of weird for a few hours. My daughter's daycare is on the same street and the officials directed everyone on this block to stay inside. I explained that I just HAD to go and see her to give her a hug so they let me walk down there. At noon our boss gave us the rest of the day off so we could donate blood.

I had just gotten home earlier from working 3rd shift in Milwaukee, Wi. and for some reason I turned on the tv to a cable channel and saw that they were showing live video of the first tower burning after being struck. The commentators were speculating about whether the 1st crash could have been accidental or intentional when, all of a sudden, another plane came into view in the video and struck the second tower. I knew then that it was no accident and that this was a turning point in history, just like Pearl Harbor.

I kept snoozing my radio alarm and heared pieces of the news assumed I was dreaming. Then I got up when I heard "Now the second building has been hit." I hit the off button, turned on the TV and was shocked. I watched the news till it was time for class. Campus was so quiet. Everyone crammed into any place with a TV set and just stared. I saw a buddy walking to class and told him about what happened, he didn't believe me until we got to the union.

I just got home from work and went to bed. Had the tv on and I woke up after 1/2 hour after I went to bed. In my sleepy state, I tried to change the movie that was on tv until I realized it was on every channel and it was not a movie.

I was driving to work and the DJ's on the radio cut into a song and they were describing what they were seeing on the TV. You really didn't get a sense of what was going on until you saw it for yourself on TV. I work in a big city and they closed almost all the business downtown and we all went home.

I was in high school. I wasin my cosmetology class. I walked in and she said "Ladythuganomics did you hear a plane hit the world trade center!!!" I was like "no". I tookit as no big deal. I thought since there are alot of plans that take you fylin around the towers and the statue of liberty that a little cessna plane had hit. Once the class got in she started to freak out. My friend from class was like "OMG MRS. _______ a 2nd plane hit" we all started to scream and cry. We went into the woodshop class and watched it on tv. Everything was shut down. I live in Jersey, 20 minutes from nyc. You coul d see the towers on the highway in my town on a clear day. A few days later. My english teacher who was in the Army was escorted out of my class to go to Waahington asap.

I was at work at a uniform supply and retail store. My boss had the tv on in his office and told all of us to come watch it after the 1st plane hit.
Before the 2nd one hit, I knew in my gut it was not good, and not an accident. The sky was too clear and ceiling invisible for this to have been an accident.

At first I was in your shoes, I was just waking up getting ready for work, when I saw the reports coming in then the second plane hit I almost forgot to go to work that day. Fortunately my boss was also tied in the coverage and called me to cancel work for that day.

I was in 7th grade reading class and they announced it over the intercom for everyone to turn the tv on. We saw the 2nd plane hit and the whole time I didn't know what everyone was talking about but I knew it was about a plane or something.

Wow there are some young people here that were in school.
I was with my daughter's first grade class on a field trip.
I was unaware of what happened until we came home and saw the news.
