Hip-hop has taken over because of the contributions it has made to the music industry. This genre has changed the way music is made. What was done in a huge studio can now be done on a laptop on your coffee table. The music is cheap to make and it sells.

Because people are starting to think if you can make words ryhme your suddenly cool and they wanna be cool so they say they like rap. Me, I don't really give a §h!† about people that can make two words sound the same. Most rappers are still in gangs and alot of them don't deserve the money they have.

I think it's because the beats are really cool and sadly the rappers rap about all the things most young people seem to care about- which are not all necessarily good things.

Rap perpetuates a culture that surprisingly EVERYONE wants to be a part of. Rap is involved in clothes, music, movies, drinks...everything!

I really don't know, but rap really sucks nowadays. It's so funny to see these teenagers walking around like they're so cool just because they listen to it. They try to talk and act all tough, and most of the time, if you stomp your foot at them, they'll pee on themselves like a scared puppy.

i dont know, maybe because of the lyrics, beats, or the fact that it is urban, idk. i guess every1 has their own opinion. i'm way more into rock and alternative. i'm starting to think that rock is starting to become underappreciated, for example, you see more pop and hip-hop awards you you see rock awards.
