I've given birth 4 times. The most I gained was 70 with #2 and the least was 20 with #4. Guess I learned my lesson with having to lose that much after #2 ;) But I did have big babies ranging from 8.2 pounds to 10 pounds and 22 inches long to 23 inches long! Doesn't leave much room, let me tell ya. But don't let anyone tell you what is normal or to be expected except your doctor and remember everyone is different, helk every pregnancy is different.

First child gain 25 and lost 20 before I left the hospital
Second child gained 35 and lost only 15 by the time I was expecting number 3 (a yearand a half later) and gained 30 pounds and have lost 20. But only with the first one did I lost a lot before I left the hospital. Then again I was much younger. My girlfriend lost all of her baby weight gain within two weeks of having each of her two kids and she gained 30 with each of them. It just really depends on your body. My OBGYN once told me that it actually takes up to 3 years for everything in a woman's body to be put back into place after giving birth. So good luck to you.

I gained almost 70lbs. A lot of it I gained right away because I was so hungry, and I kept telling myslef it's ok to eat a lot because I was pregnant. But I don't suggest doing that. It took a lot of hard work for a really long time, and I am still 20 lb heavier than when before I got pregnant.

I gained 52 lbs.I went from 128 at the beginning to 180 at birth. It's been 6 weeks and I now weigh 143. I believe u loose close to 15 -20 lbs directly after birth. The rest may never come off that's why dr's don't reccommend gaining more than 25-30lbs.

I gained about twenty pounds (most of it was water gain, as I lost weight during the first trimester....morning sickness).
At my two week check up, I had lost all of the weight I had gained and then some, approx 28 pounds.
As far as weight loss after birth, not really sure. But, it is never the full amount of weight that you gained.
If you eat properly and exercise, this will help the weight gain during pregnancy, as well as loss after birth. Pregnancy is not a green light on eating what you want. The unnecessary weight gain from pregnancy will 'stick' to you and will be difficult to lose.

Im embarrased to answer this, but I gained 80 lbs. I was terrified when I found out I was pregnant and quit my job.
Anyway, I lost about 30 lbs pretty fast. Im still working on losing the weight I have gained, it totally sucks, but I will get there!

I gained 30-35lbs when I was pregnant and I know at my 2 week postpartum appointment I had lost 15. I think the day when I had my daughter I lost 8 automatically.

Gained 22lbs the entire pregnancy and lost 20 while I was in the hospital.
I had a csection, and I was pumping every 2 hours for my NICU baby. Plus the stress of the NICU and not being able to see him made me not very hungry, so I didn't eat a ton, plus I was on a diet for high BP(pre-e) and diabetes. So I was pretty much eating turkey sandwiches for lunch, plain eggs for breakfast and nothingness for dinner, lol.
I've probably gained part of that back since the baby came home. I seem to be addicted to sweets.
