Why do hispanics have a lot of children?

If they don't believe in any form of birth control...then what about AIDS?

A lot of Hispanics are Catholic due to the whole Spanish taking over thing, and many of them are very involved in their religion. Catholicism preaches that it is wrong to use contraceptives, and advocate "natural family planning", which rarely works, therefore, women get pregnant more often. This isn't just the case with Hispanics though, it is also true with Irish people. Ever heard of the term Irish twins? This is when the children are very close in age, because as soon as a woman has one child, she becomes pregnant again and has another. That's why people with either of these backgrounds, or any other very Catholic background for that matter, tend to have large families.


As for AIDS, birth control doesn't prevent the transmission, and people who are very devote to their religion also don't believe in Sex before marriage.... So if they don't have sex, then they don't get diseases!

Not all hispanics have a lot of children. I know pleanty with only 1, 2 or 3 kids. I know white people with 10-12 kids. Heck there are some crazy people here in Arkansas that just had their 18th back in the winter and they're white.

Plus, tons of hispancs are catholic and catholics don't believe in any form of birth control, including abortion.

I believe the population increase is similar to the mid fifties to mid sixties Black Population with the purpose to have in the future more black people thus a stronger voting block, Latino,s have the same goal, have as many children in the U.S. as you can [ the standard of living no matter how bad it may be will be much better from whence they came ] and in the future have their voting block thus a piece of the pie. This does work as history shoes,, the downfall is,,, the focus needed and dedication to their race it became a second nature for the blacks to not like white people for fear of losing what they accomplished,, that is sad,, the fire under our melting pot is not being "attended to" we quit melting and if nothing positive happens as one people,, our nation will have a larger population diverse population who will repeat History and not as simulate but possibly rule.

The majority of hispanics are Catholic, and the Catholic church doesn't believe in abortion or birth control. Hope this helps!

why does anyone do anything? I don't think you should have directed your question towards hispanics. I know a person who is "white", she has four children, she had her first one when she was sixteen and has been on welfare ever since. Has never worked a day in her life.

I am Latina and proud of it!!! ....and I am on my 3rd and LAST child.... and like alot of other answers here...Hispanics arent the only ones having large families.... Didnt you see that show on TV of the family building their house cause they have 16 kids and another one on the way.... they are White... so i think your question should of said....why do couples have a lot of children...

I have a very good friend who is Spanish and she says they are raised to have large families. She says they are taught that at an early age...

Yup, not all of them. I know a lot who only has two children.
