is this a question, it's about pride in their country, roots, ancestry, and soccer is a big sport around the world too.

It's once every four years and the biggest sporting event on the planet dealing with some of the finest atheletes from the best soccer/football nations. What's not to like??

It gives everyone an excuse to unite as a nation. People long to be involved in community affairs, bonding with others... This is a great excuse to do so.

For me it is important, because it is fun .....we have a big party here in Germany :-)
