I actually started playing piccolo after playing the flute for only a year. It's really not hard at all; you just have to set your embochure as if you were playing higher notes on a regular flute. The actual fingering is slightly different, but you probably only need like a day or two to get used to it.

The music is only in the flute player. Only a flute player can get music out of a flute. This can be tested so is a very strong hypothesis.

No, it's not hard at all. Getting the very upper register out will be difficult at first, just like it was when you started flute, but it shouldn't take you too long to get used to it. Playing piccolo actually helps your flute playing as well because of all the flexibility you build up in your embouchure. Good luck!

its kinda hard .. u gotta pucker ur lips much harder then u do with the flute, but if uve been playing for 5 1/2 yrs u should be alright ... i played the flute for 9 yrs and the piccolo for 3 ... beautiful sounds come from them :)

NO - the setting of your mouth and of your hands will be very similar. Piccolo will be smaller, however.
