Is there anyway to tell if you are pregnant with twins without an ultrasound and 8 weeks into the pregnancy?

I am 8 weeks and I keep having dreams of twins.
I have three other children but for some reason this pregnancy is worst of all.

I have twins and i didnt know until my first ultrasound. I was around 20 weeks i think. Anyways..they might be able to hear it when they look for the heartbeat but mine didnt. If they are identical their hearts will most likely beat at the same time making it hard to hear 2 different ones..the only reason they suspected i was carrying twins was because i was measuring way too big.....

There are some small tell-tale factors, but nothing definite. There is no way to be completely sure until you consult your doctor. Without an ultrasound, they might be able to tell with a heartbeat monitor if the doctor can get both heartbeats at the same time.

I would recommend a trip to the local library and doing some reading on the subject of twins. It will help you know what warning signs to look out for.

Hard to tell. I personally had extremely bad morning sickness very early in the pregnancy. I couldn't even drink water.
The doctor didn't believe me when I told him the date of my last period. He said I had to be wrong becuase I was bigger than expected for that age and my homorne levels were elevated.
Detecting twins at 8 weeks can be difficult becuase one baby may be 'hiding' behind the other during the ultrasound.

Nope. And every pregnancy is different. Just had my 3rd (and last) a month ago yesterday. It was a horrible uncomfortable pregnancy in comparison to first 2, but the delivery was a breeze. But there is no way to tell how many u are carrying until u have your ultrasound.

Each pregnancy is different. You are probably very tired after running around after 3 other children. The only way I know of determining twins is by ultra sound. I don't think dreaming you are carrying twins is any indication that you are having twins. You are probably just very tired and not as young as you used to be.

at 8 wks no, an ultrasound is the only definitive way to determine twins at this point, i believe maybe a doppler may be able to pick up 2 heartbeats???
