The disco ball was invented by John R. Discontent. He invented it by accident. He as actually playing basket ball in the house and broke his mother's mirror and knocked over a bucket of glue. While trying to pick-up the ball it kept slipping out of his hands rolling around on the pieces of broken mirror. Once he finally got it cleaned up his mother came home and saw it. She thought he had made it for her so she hung it up in the living room. A man came over from General Electric and saw it hanging up and decided to market it as a lamp. John R. made millions for his idea, but wasted it all by buy stock in the Pet Rock thing and plat form shoes. So historically it was J.R. Disco-ntent that invented the disco-ball.
