As a summer school teacher, I've been to a few teenage discos and I've found that the girls like cheesy pop and the boys like rap. The Crazy Frog was a huge hit last year. :-(

Im a DJ and a musician and for kids it varys quite a bit...most girls like cheesy music RnB or kids related bands such as SClub7- juniors... and boys tend to like Rap / Modern Rock. -Indie..but some Ive done,they like songs like things like Grease and Classic rock and 80s...sounds silly but its true lol..I would mix and match things of the last 20 years..kids tend to follow what their parents listen too aswell..mine do and they are under 10. and I play all music from the 60s to 00s..its what kids grow up with aswell as modern day.

I looove good charlotte and panic!at the disco, new fould glory, smashmouth, and simple plan-rock bands
then i looove eminem-rapper
then i loooove any country music

alot of them like pop, and hip hop, raps good too, but some of them have bad language which u probably dont want so i would just stick with pop
