why do women paint men with a broad brush?

Men get steriotyped big time by women (lazy,not compassionate,uncaring and irresponsible etc)not all men deserve tht tag.

I agree with you not all men do but at the same time women should not be stereotyped either as we are not all nags, selfish, or things like that either. Goes both ways you know.

to be perfectly honest I think it is because all women have had an experience with a man that justfies the "broad brush " point of view. It is much easier for us to justify or "failures in relationships" by pointing out that "that's just the way men are", than to look at ourselves and find the problem there. when getting into relationships I think most women expect to change men when they decide to be with him. "cause if he really loved me he would want the best for us"...when this doesn't work out...well we'd rather not think about how we may have pushed him into a box that didn't suit him. it is much easier to blame it on all men and give up....untill we are up for another challenge.

I don't think that is true. Things equal out between the sexes. Just as many jerks and good people in both. I was married a long time to a jerk but know a lot of nice men too. No not all are the same.

I agree, not all men deserve that tag. Nor do all women tag men as you say. I've known lots of caring and compassionate men, but I've also known a lot of selfish idiots. Truth is, I've known more women to fit that category then men.

cause 99.99 percent are like that. the other .001 percent are already taken and most of the time they become part of that 99.99 percent because there are trifling biatches out there that will try to take another woman's good man and destroy his good values too! so if you're part of that .001 percent BRAVO to you!! and never ever ever let that go or you'll be just like the others...
