Getting back at you for those 20 minute temper tantrums you'd throw in public when you were a kid when everyone in the place would be staring so they had to act like good parents when they so desperately wanted to beat you like a stepchild. Its called revenge. Evil but effective.

they are trying to relate with you. just try to be patient. they love you and want to know and be involved with what is going on in your life. oh and some parents aren't acting cool - they actually are cool. (when you get older you will realize that coolness isn't necessarily gauged by age - you can always be cool.) you will find most of the time, that you can have lots of fun with your parents. it is ok to sit them down though and ask them if you can have time on your own without them being there in your crowd of friends. if they really are cool, they will be cool with that and you will feel like you have a little space. :) be very careful about thinking your parents are stupid or putting on an act. they know more than you and they have lots more experience. what will make you even cooler is to learn from them. be glad that you have cool parents and be respectful. having cool parents is totally not a hardship, but a blessing. where do you think you got your coolness from anyway? lol - gl

You're probably not nearly as cool as you think you are! And remember having kids was probably what made them "not cool" like back when they had their own lives, etc. Give them a break. They're just trying to relate to you so meet them halfway!

Seeing as you are asking this question. You must think that the world revolves around you. Like all kids.

Perhaps if you actually put your brain to some actual use, you may realize that your parents are trying to relate to you in some way.

However, it is obviously not working.

Because unfortunately for you ...they care about how much you like them, instead of being "PARENTS"!
Parents have to be the enemy sometimes...because WE should care more about the effect your mistakes will make on your future, than being "cool".

You should thank God you have parents let alone nice ones. My friend used to say the same thing and 2 years later, her mother died of cancer... Be thankful for what you have.
