Me and John which dated for about a year and a half are perfect for eachother. me and him had some **** go down and we decided to take a break for a couple of months to see other people. we did. i saw this guy gary for a while and then when john and i was ready to go back out again, i needed to get rid of gary somehow. i told him that i didnt want a bf and i wanted to concentrate on other things in my life right now. so i dint tell him i went back out with john. But i am and now he still thinks he can be with me "someday" but i know i dont like him and it is never going to happen. i wouldnt mind just being friends with him but he wants to have sex and ****. i want to be 100% faithful to my boyfriend and i will and no one will change that but i want to be able to tell gary that i have a bf without him getting hurt. But i really do not know how to do this.

Whatever you did was totally wrong. Seems like you just use Gary to forget about John. Now you are in the mess of your own. You are the only one who can fix this by telling Gary the truth.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter what you say or how nice you say it to Gary, he is going to get hurt. You're just going to have to be blunt. Tell him you have a boyfriend, you bumped into one of your ex's and the two of you just hit it off so well. Tell Gary he is a nice guy but not for you and let it be at that.

You need to tell him. The longer that you wait the harder that it will be. Just tell him that your ex came back into your life and you love him. You are sorry for hurting him but you want to be with John and that you would love to be friends but nothing more..

That is the problem with women. They think men are fragile and unstable so they lie to them a lie that they think won't hurt their feelings.
If a woman would just tell you, "Sorry, I don't/can't love you, and I don't want to be with you." It may sting a little, but the guy would be over it in about 3 days.

Be honest, there's no other way to really get rid of him. TRUST ME!! I've been in ur situation and well u can try to just totally ignore him but he'll keep coming back, especially if he's waiting for his chance!

You should really just tell him, don't lead him on. Let him know that he is a great guy but you just feel more comfortable as friends. As long as you don't tell him, he will continue to think that he has a chance with you. My only advice is just to let him.
