Round Up is a non selective herbicide that can be poured into holes drilled in the roots of the tree - idealy you should have applied the Round Up to the tree leaves before you cut it down. There are also commerical products available "Stump Remove", "Stump Rot" ask at your local garden centre and follow their directions to the "T".
