If you knew the details of the crime, you child is never alone with this person, would you allow the child to play with the other child? I was not sure how I would feel before I met my husband. He told me shortly after we started dating and then took me to the sheriff office where he has to register and let me hear the story from and then make my own judgement as to how I wanted to handle it. I had a young child at the time and I would never put my child in any situation that he could get harmed. Now I have a child with this man and we have been together for 6 years and married for 3 my son loves him as if he was his own father and I know he would never hurt my child. Besides the fact that his charge was not even realated to a child. See my other question as well about sex offenders.

The description sex offender often covers such a wide range of offenders. Some one who rapes a child is classified a sex offender. Some one who is 17 and has sex w/ a consenting 16 yr old is also classified as a sex offender and probably has to register. My first thought when I saw your question was Hell no why would I put a child in that situation. If the crime had anything to do w a child never, if it was like my 2nd example and I knew the person well , as I would like to with any adault around a child, possibly.

I think it depends on the circumstances of the offense. Not all registered offenders are murderers or sexual deviants. If it was a first degree offense than I wouldn't let my child near the person.

I am just wondering why you are painting such a pretty picture of Sex Offenders...This site is being inundated with all of these Hypothetical Situations, just to slant the publics view on Sex Offenders...Why don't you just keep the ball in your side of the court.

You have already illustrated that your needs and desires count for more than your child's wellbeing - why bother asking this question?
