David Wright. Pujols is on the juice, so his stats are suspicious.

Pujols, hands down, unless he plays the worst that he has ever played. Even if he just does his average months for the rest of the season, he'll still hit close to 50 HR's, 100+ RBI's, 110+ runs and a .320 BA.
Why is it when a player is genuinely good, people accuse him of being juiced? I've been watching Pujols since he made his debut in 2001 in the season opener against the Rockies, he was the only Cardinal to hit well in that series, and has kept it up every since. He has been roughly the same size over the last 5 years and is probably the hardest worker in baseball. He spends hours in the video room and much more time practicing on his game.

Wright is having a great year, no dount, but right now I'm still voting for Albert Pujols -- .308 AVG, .442 OBP, 25 HRs, 65RBI -- despite the fact that he's played 17 (18 if you count today's Mets game) fewer games than Wright

I have 3 choices. #1 Albert Pujols, just shy of a triple crown last year and could get it this year. #2 Tom Glavine, he is leading the mets not Pedro or Wright. #3 John Smoltz, if he doesn't get traded he will do perfect things. It's not his fault they are losin. The bullpen has blown 5 leads for Smoltz. If someone says Bonds i will puke. CHEETER! Can you say steriods?

its dependent also on how their respective teams finish
if pujols comes back and continues his torrid pace and the
cardinals win their division it'll be him
the other two main candidates are wright and howard, both
outstanding players, it will come down to which will carry their
teams farther. Personally I hope Wright does it, but again, it's
way too early to say

Right now - Albert Pujols (even though he has missed the last two weeks)
He is the best hitter in baseball. He hits for average, power, and drives in runs.
He missed two weeks of baseball and was just caught by Howard of Philadelphia for power stats. That is amazing!

Before he got hurt, I definitely would have said Albert Pujols, but, we'll have to see how he returns from injury.
If his return is not so spectacular, I think Wright is a very worthy candidate.
