Time in of itself is apart of the universe. It is one of the four dimensions(length, width, height, and time). But time, more accurately ones sense of time can change from place to place. Strong gravitational fields and speeds approaching significant fractions of the speed of light can alter ones sense of time. In these conditions one would perceive their time as normal, but seeing some one after you left these conditions you would realize that they are older than you. In a sense what you are saying is correct. We measure time by things on earth, quartz or cesium nuclei, time is not dependent on these things only our concept and perception of time. I hope that helps.

It depends on what TIME actually is. Some believe it is no more than a measurement humanity invented. I say to that: no, seconds, minutes, hours, days and so on are what WE invented. We invented those measurements to measure a THING. Since time then is a 'thing', then it has a basis in reality as a separate entity. If we can measure a thing--assign it some kind of value--that makes it real. But you can't escape time by going into space. If the value of time changes in space, you will never know it; 100 years will still be only 100 years for you. It is only in relation to us here on Earth that you will seem to have lived longer than us; for you, it will be the same amount of time, 100 years. Sorry, you can't get more life that way.

Your life span does not change. And, technically, the universe has no time. Time is a concept created by man to help things have an order.

Man has created time to give an order to everything. Current lifespan on Earth is about 78 years, In space the only way to lengthen your lifespan<

You should study theory of relativity. Time and space is far more complex than what everybody thinks. Time exists, as much as room exists. Only that when you accelerate, you rotate your spacetime so that time becomes room and room becomes time, a little bit simplified. I know, it's crazy.
