Although I am a liberal and a democrat, I want to help you to join the party of your choice, you have that right.
Basically, you need to register to vote. At that time, you will be asked to state your party affiliation, which in your case happens to be Republican. Call your county registrar of voters. They will help you register and also help you get in contact with your local republican party representatives.
Good luck and remember to pay attention to your local issues as well as national ones!
A friend.

You may want to check with your State Republican Party, they may be able to help you find someone more locally to work with. If you have a Republican Congressman, Senator or a local State official, they may also be able to help.

Contact the state party, and they'll connect you to the local group if there is any.
