I lived in Hawaii... on Oahu (that's where Waikiki is) where most of the tourists hang out. Honestly what drove me CRAZY was the people who came who had no respect for the native Hawaiians and their Island. I am a miltary wife... we lived there for 3 years and I saw my self as a guest there. I saw so many mainlanders come on and either would leave their trash on the beaches or what have you.... It's just aweful. Hawaii is a beautiful place with wonderful precious people... and too many see it as one big resort and think that a whole society and culture is just there to amuse them. Makes me soo angry....
aaaand i'm off my soap box

Flirt with the help. When I was in high school I worked at a Subway on South Padre Island. We had to wear these shirts that said "Put a foot long in your mouth". I had all these dumb drunk college guys asking me if I wanted their foot long. 1. I was only 16. 2. Why would I want some stinking tourist that was so drunk he probably couldn't get it up, let alone be able to boast about having a 'foot long' dong. 3. They trash the beach.

Make me realize that I do all the same things when I'm visiting other places as a tourist. At some point we're all tourists....

I don't live in SF but I spend a bit of time there and I get really annoyed at the people who stop right in the middle of the sidewalk when they take a picture. They mess up the whole flow of foot traffic.
It would be easier if they just stood off to the left or right on the sidewalk to talk their photos, it's much easier that way.

Smoke. It is now rare amongst Canadians, but a lot of our tourists come from outside the country. They must think they are still at home, because they seem to light up constantly.

In SF, they drive like idiots. Granted, we have some weird streets, lots of one way and no left turn; but they act like they're the only people on the road.

I hate it that they all stand in the middle of the pavements and gather in big groups and you can't get past them. I hate that they faff about on escalators in the tube stations, they stand on the side that is meant for walking on. I hate that they walk so bloody slowly!!!

They walk around as if they know everything even though I've seen them hold a map upside down.
