Why do some people still fly the confederate flag? All it really represents is a bunch of losers who could'nt win the war. Why do you want to fly a flag of failure? It represents weakness, there is no honor in that

Yes it's dumb! We live in the United States of America not the Confederate States of America. It would be like flying a Japanese flag outside our windows the day after the tragedy at pearl harbor happened.

It is not the fact that we are a bunch of losers. We believe in our heritage. We believe we have the right to show the world how we really feel.
You can't blame the flag for the people that lost. The flag didn't lose. The people did. That is beside the point.
This flags represents our heritage, our life. Not a hate on any other nationality.
You cutting our flag down, is like you might as well cut down all the other country flags you see flying.
Maybe the world should look at the flag as southern love.

I'm proud to be both an American and a Southerner. I don't wear or fly the Confederate flag, because I think it looks tacky and I'm not a redneck. However, I have to say that many other Southerners fly the flag to express their pride in their Southern heritage. Some may argue that it's racist, because the Confederacy was in favor of slavery, but nowadays, most people who show their pride in being Southern don't share the racist ideas of their ancestors. Not only that, but slavery wasn't the only issue that caused the war. And while the South may have lost the Civil War, we should still keep in mind the fact that many of our young men were maimed and killed just as many of those fighting for the Union were.

Why do we have any Vietnam memorials or monuments? Simply because you want to honor those that laid down their lives for a cause. I am southern, I do NOT own a confederate flag in any form. That doesn't stop me from being proud of my heritage. The reasons for not flying or displaying a Confederate flag are not the sorry reason you give but rather because it has come to symbolize hatred and bigotry....something that was NOT its original purpose.

So you couldn't be creative enough to post your own question and you had to go borrow one from someone else that you previously answered...OK, now that's said...on to your comment.
If you think all it represents is weakness, better go back and study your history, for starters.
You're certainly entitled to your warped opinion, but I'm here to remind you that there was sooo much more to it than just that. Good people died fighting for what that flag stood for, and their memory deserves recognition, even if it is just by flying a flag...so be it.
Hey...not a problem...*grins*

I've never seen people fly the confederate flag...Though if the people are southerners, it might just be to show off Southern pride or something. Same reason we fly the American flag.

the confed flag represents states rights, and the Nazi flag represents racial diversity and is a buddist good luck symbol, and the Soviet Hammer and Sickle Represents love and equality for all, and Al-Qaieda is just a bunch of freedom fighters trying to liberate the middle east.
