I don't quite understand the question. Do you mean if they home school should they give homework? I think yes, children need additional time to practice skills and reinforce a concept. It doesn't have to be a terribly long homework, just a quick thing to review what they learned. Do you mean in addition to homework given at school? I think that depends on your child and how well they are learning what they need to know. It never hurts for a parent to practice math facts or reading skills with their kid - help them learn time or money skill. These can be done in a fun way so the kids are playing a game instead of doing homework.

I hope I answered your qeustion!

I believe that school systems today have become far more difficult than they were when we were in school. Therefore, they have more than enough to occupy their minds. Plus, the amount of homework that's usually sent home is enough to keep any child busy and stressed. I think there should be a set time for homework but that parents shouldn't expect their child to do any extra. (unless they're attending a outside learning center due to learning disabilities. That's a whole different situation)

Nope. That is totally unfair. But when i was in the summer between the fifth and sixth grade ( in the sixth grade in england you have the 11+ and the results will be passed to seconday schools and will appeal you a place in a school- and a good school means good college.....yadah yadah yadah) my mom thought that practice papers might come in handy. And i totally protested. it was my SUMMER. i wanted to hang with my mates. So all of our parents got together and orginised this "club". so around noon we would all meet at my house, do a practice paper- then hang out. This method seemed to work because i knew that my friends were right next to me and as soon as i was done i could go. This actually improved my grades and i have gotten into a good school. So if ya wanna help ya child, try a study group.

If your kid's having trouble in a certain course then sure, but if they're doing fine (getting A's, B's, and C's) then no. It all depends on what your child is capable of. If your kid's getting C's but test scores and whatnot say that they have the potential to get B's and A's, then maybe some thing's just not getting through to them. That may be one reason to set extra homework. Otherwise, no.

Heck no. Kids are being pushed enough in school! The "break" in "Summer Break" is there for a reason. Kids need to relax for a while! Sure they have spring and winter vacation but summer is longer and more enjoyable because it isn't so freezing.
