... and Veganism?

Being one myself.. I like me..lol
But find it hard to not be judged when I am just doing what my soul tells me to.Mine may speak louder than some and i listen..
I am also listing to you here.. and now listen to this. A true Vegan
is someone who simple will not eat flesh or bi-products of such.
We are not so called freaks or strange, simply different in our views from most. It is easy not hard as some stated here. I have no desire to eat meat , drink booze or do drugs.
They all harm the body and I am too old to start tearing down and rebuilding my body.. ( body is your temple or home)life is not like HGTV where you can simply rebuild or move to a new home. Most Vegans just want to share a healthy lifestyle cause they care about the person they nag...and the life of the things that die to give some a preferred meal and taste.
One day when we all have to take meals in pill form cause the cows and plants are dead and gone maybe we will find something better to worry about ...like why can't we find a man in the sand that is trying his best to put an end the USA?

I used to be a vegan...for about 3 months, but went back to being a vegetarian. It was so hard to eat with such limits. I admire those who stick with it because of the difficulty. One thing about being a vegan that was great--I stayed thin without even trying! That was really awesome to eat a lot and not gain weight!

I admire them. But at some point you have to accept the realities of human nature.

It is one thing to be a vegan personally, but it will cause difficulties in a family. I live with an elderly parent whose diet includes requirements, such as sufficient intake of iron, which it would be difficult to meet for vegetarians, let alone vegans.

I think Vegans are great. They leave more meat for me. Actually, I have no probelms with people choosing not to eat meat for any reason, be it dietary or moral. I do have a problem however, with those people who think they're better than me because I choose to eat meat and they don't. To each his own. If you don't want to eat meat, fine... but give me the same respect when I decide I want a cheeseburger.

As far as a philosophy of life, it is something that is a choice. It annoys me when certain die-hard vegans try to impose their philosophical point-of-view and try to shame me into not enjoying my meal. It's a little like being harassed by religious fanatics.

Our teeth evolved in the style of omnivores. That means we are designed to eat a variety of foods, including meat. However, if someone chooses to eat in a way that runs contrary to nature, so be it. If you are a guest or loved one, I will accommodate you the best I can at the meals I serve. However, it is unreasonable to expect me to modify my own eating style so as to not offend you. It could easily be viewed the other way: That your way of eating is unnatural and it offends me. So, tolerance from both sides is the best way to behave.

Many people consider vegans (and vegetarians) to be nervous, nail-biting, malnourished, politically obssessed, judgemental, obnoxious, militant "protectors of the planet" who will stop at no personal offense to cram their opinion (and remarkable body odor) down your throat.

Many are precisely that.

Some, however, are real cool folks with a love of good nutrition and time-honored mutual respect, and they smell nice too.

Which group is bigger is anyone's guess...

They over do it. You have to eat something, and not all restuarants have vegan choices in their menu, nor do they understand such people. I think vegans are good people, but crazy.

Do people really bother to stop and think about vegans...?

I don't think people think anything in particualr about vegans except the definition. They are people who don't eat animals or animal bi-products....

good for them for being so disciplined to live that way. I have a lot of respect for people that make such an effort to follow through with what they believe in. Me? I like my leather bag too much!
