Man... I'm not a vegan but I'm a peske-ovo-vegetarian. There are a lot of myths about all of us. Like the guy who said something about the vegan's feces... meat eater's feces doesn't stink? Wow!
There are also different types, some are more jealous than others and are in it for different reasons. I'm in it for health. I still cook meat for parties and BBQs. I still feed my kids meat. I just don't eat it. Most vegans would either cringe or vocally protest what I do. I even hunt and process meat, but then either feed it to my kids or give it away. I just like the way I feel and look since I quit eating meat two years ago.
I think some go a little overboard though. It's fine what they believe and do at home, but when they go around hiting the water at fishing tourneys and protesting celebs for wearing fur it's a little too much. I always want to know why they don't go to the local Motorcycle Club and protest them for wearing leather. I may try to convince someone to make their diet more healthy, but I am not going to tell you what to do unless you ask me to.

I think that if a person chooses to be a vegan then that's cool everyone has a right to choose what they want to eat, that being said, I CANNOT stand a vegetarian or vegan who tries to make other people feel bad disgusting or wrong for eating meat, because like the vegan, they have a right to choose what they want to eat. Also, if a person wants to be a vegan, I think they should do some research so that they can live a healthy life. Alot of people who decide to stop eating meat don't know what to eat that has enough iron and protein for the health of their body.

I admire vegans and feel that without a doubt it is the best lifestyle to live. It's best for people's health, for the environment, for ending world hunger, for improving the economy. The only "downside" is the change that we as a society must make to make it easier to live a vegan lifestyle.

A lot of answers I read have noted that we need meat for protein and/or we as humans are made to eat meat, which I think is a falsehood. First of all, the only necessary part of a healthy diet one can't get from a vegan diet is vitamin B-12. We, nonetheless, can meet our B-12 needs through vitamin supplements or from foods and drinks, such as many types of soy milk, that have B-12 added in them. Secondly, our stomach and small intestine function better with a non-animal-based diet. Look at photos comparing the small intestine of a vegan and a meat-eater to see the clear benefit of being vegan. Thirdly, the argument that we are "made" to eat meat is logically flawed. Someone could similarly argue that because we have hands that can punch, we are made to fight and commit acts of war. The ability to do something, like eat meat, does not mean we were "meant" to do it. The fact that not eating meat is better for us physcially (as well as emotionally if you consider the psychological detriment of participating in a society that kills animals) suggests that as we as a people become more enlightened, we will begin to view being vegan as what we were "meant" to do.

I unfortunately am not vegan (yet). Being vegetarian is as far as I've been able to get so far. But this does not change my conviction that being vegan, all things being equal, is the best lifestyle one can live.

My dad's a Vegan, VERY energetic, healthy and he's 64 and still has the energy of an 18 year old. Nobody can tell he's that old! I was born a vegetarian but I eat eggs and dairy. NO fish, No meat, NO chicken and I've never been sick, never broken a bone. Providing you know how to eat, a Vegan diet is GREAT!

I used to know a bunch of them. Frankly, most of the ones I knew seemed really unhealthy and their food choices were so limited as to be disgusting. (I have tried LOTS of vegan dishes and found NONE that I liked.) I don't think them being vegan means anything bad about their character, but it does seem like they are punishing themselves. I do not believe that vegans are healthier - no way. But, I do believe they have the right to eat or not eat whatever they want. As far as their lifestyle choices go, I suppose I just think of them as liberal - with all the not tested on animals, no leather wearing, etc. It's not good or bad - it just is. Hope that answers your question.

Our existance on Earth is supposd to be a secret. The first starship from the vegan star system arrived in the early 1900's.

(Vega is the brightest star in Lyra, and the fifth brightest star in the entire sky. It is the second brightest star in the Northern night sky, after Arcturus, and can often be seen near the zenith in the mid-northern latitudes during the Northern Hemisphere summer.

It is a "nearby star" from Earth, and together with Arcturus and Sirius, one of the brightest stars in the Sun's neighbourhood.)

We found we could not digest the animal proteins found in most Earth food but we could eat simple foods, mainly vegetation. Our disguise was almost blown because of our strange eating habits and when one of us was asked why we did not eat meat, he replied that we were Vegans. Thus, the term was associated with our eating habits, not our origin. Today, fully half of the vegans you meet are of Earth origin the rest of us are from Vega.

Ultimate eating habit. U need to take regularly vit B12 as u get it only in animal products (eg liver, meat and milk) but this is the sure way to health and we owe great respect to vegans as they contribute indirectly to relieving the burden of food production for cattle/meat on the earth. ALSO WE DO NOT NEED MILK AS FROM THE AGE OF 30 SINCE WE HAVE STOP GROWING. U CAN TRY SOYAMILK IF U WANNA MILK

Hypocrites. I was a vegetarian for 6 years so don't say I haven't tried. Vegan is all about animal rights. Unfortunately science gives credit for our intelligence and brain mass to eating meat. Meat has the necessary protein to keep your brain healthy and growing.

If you are a vegetarian or vegan, you are killing 100s or 1000s of animals per year also because when the crops that you eat are being cut down, 100s of field mice, rabits, and snakes are killed. At least we (meat eaters) eat what we kill.

Many people view them a hippies who have an issue against eating the god given creatures that were meant to be food. But... that's just one group. I have a friend who is vegan who I admire because of her strongholds. You go girl!
