Agreed. After the death of Cliff Burton, Metallica went seriously downhill.
They did better with St. Anger, but it still isn't nearly as good.

I'm torn between that one and And Justice for All. Sanitarium is my all time favorite Metallica song though. So I guess i'll go with Master. Anything after the Black album can be tossed into a fire as far as I'm concerned. Plus, the whole Napster thing....killed my love for the band. they can piss off for all I care and Lars is the biggest vag I've ever seen. Plays good drums but WOW what a vag.

Master was a turning point for Metallica, definately. As fazr as their best, I couldn't say. I'm quite partial to And Justice... because it blended Master's melodic tones with Jame's talent for vocalizing against the establishment. metallica continues to evolve, and being a human, I evolve along as well. Just be in the militia, man.

Master of Puppets was my first CD i ever bought and my very first concert t-shirt ....but my fave Metallica CD ( to date ) is S and M

Ride The Lightning, although I think the song "Master Of Puppets" is their best song.
Everything they've released after "...And Justice For All" has been shitty, except for "Garage, Inc.", which was all covers anyway.

Ride the Lightning. St.Anger is not bad but kinda sounds like all the other bands today. I really love the Black cover album.
