i really like songs like that and "dont worry baby" by the beach boys but i don't know what genre those old songs would be in.

You make my Dreams Come True is defineltly the 80's. That's by Hall and Oats. Beach Boys was mostly the 70's era.

They are in the rock/pop genre. If you look on Billboard they are on the rock chart.

I believe they are partially known as "surf" music, tropical music, folk rock, big beat, and western swing
