I moved to Louisville, KY for school and lived there for 9 months, therefore making that the largest city I've ever lived in. It stunk! I didn't like my roommate, the people in the community, even the people in some of the churches were very pushy and hateful. If they find out you're not from Louisville, they will ignore you for the most part. Southern hospitality my rear when it comes to there. I did like the natural beauty and river city culture of the place, though.

I'd like to move to Ft. Worth, Austin, Birmingham, or San Antonio. While every city has its share of jarheads, typically people are friendlier and more open the farther South you go. Plus, I've been to these cities and really like them.

I now live in a small town about 50 minutes east of Louisville, near Kentucky's horse country. It still sucks, but at least it's my hometown and my immediate family is there.

I've lived in Chicago, IL all my life so this is the largest city I've ever lived in. I like it ok, there's a lot to do here. There are all kinds of people here. Some of the people are nice but some aren't but that's going to be the case no matter where you live.

I have only lived in 2 cities: Detroit & Nashville. Detroit, as most of the nation already knows, sucks! There are some good points about Detroit though, I cant lie. Its just that every BAD thing that happens in Detroit makes the news which isnt fair. However, there IS a high level of ignorance both IN & OUT of city limits. Appearance wise, it can look much better but downtown is starting to look really nice in some areas. Detroit has GREAT food though. Nashville is nice. The food is just ok but if you are hungry after 8pm you are almost out of luck, lol. There are hardly any night clubs, its more country-oriented so if you are NOT a country music fan, maybe you shouldnt venture downtown looking for a good time too often. NOT saying you cant find something to do, its just not as much as Detroit. Id rather live somewhere else for a change of environment but Im working on that :-)

Houston, TX is the largest city I've lived in. It's neat because there's lots of places to go and very diverse. There's places here where we can find Spanish and Vietnamese and Korean on ONE sign.

The traffic is terrible though, because of all the people. I think we have 8 million people in Houston. During Hurricane Rita, the evacuation was the deadliest part. Everyone was leaving at the same time, and many ran out of gas.

But I still like Houston because there are so many cultures evident here. I don't feel like a minority here, and I'm Asian.

I have lived in Sacramento and I didnt like it because of the crime. I remember walking home from work and seeing some people break into a dentist office...it terrified me and I ran all the way home...I now live in a pretty large city around 60,000 people and its a lot better not as much crime. The only issue I have is that there's a lot of Mexicans (which is ok) but they dont speak english and now the schools are all in spanish...when I enrolled my kids in school the first question was do your kids speak english and i said of course and the secretary said well we are going to have to find them an english speaking classroom...that made me mad its not fair to my kids who've been here all their lives and now they have to learn a language that's not from their own country??? Most of their friends parents dont speak english so we cant have birthday parties nor can i invite them over for dinner etc...its really hard on my kids they are constantly being made fun of in spanish and they have no idea what the kids are saying....I had to pull them out and homeschool them and when I did I found a lot of white people doing the same their kids as well werent learning in school because the teachers were teaching in spanish and in english. Can anyone tell me if this is wrong am i the only one who thinks so????? If I went to Germany do I not have to learn German? Or do they learn Chinese to accomodate me? I dont get it....I love my little town I live in but its getting to where I cant even read the billboard signs cuz they are all in spanish so are the store fronts!

I have lived in several, London, England; Seoul, South Korean; Tampa, Florida. I loved London because there was tons to do and you could walk every where (great for losing weight even with all of the drinking!). Seoul sucked because of the pollution and Tampa is wonderful, but you have to drive every where and traffic is getting bad there. I agree about people being friendlier in the South though, don't lump Louisville in, that is a weird place anyway. Though I do remember them having a great bar/pub district downtown.

San Antonio, Texas. Fell in love with the city and the woman I'll spend the rest of my life with back in 1983. Even though its a large metropolitan area with over a million people...still has the small town feel about it. The people of this city really are friendly and helpful. Plus, it has the best mexican (tex-mex) food and the best NBA basketball team. GO SPURS GO!!

I Lived in London UK for 7 years...and loved it. I was born in a city and I'm a real city girl, the country life with the smell of manure does nothing for me...my grandma had a farm and I loved going there for vacations, but after a week I was itching to go back to the CITY. I know people moan about cities being dirty and crowded, but London is actually very clean...I like the anonymity in the city, because in a close knit community everyone else knows your business. There's always something happening in London, there's lots of museums, art galleries (and most are free) and theatres and cool places to shop like Camden Market, and lots of parks to relax in and enjoy the sunshine. London really has a pulse to it and I love it.

I've lived in Montreal,Canada for 10 years and I've lived in Athens,Greece for the past 6 years. It's hard to say where I like it more cause each city has its own advantages.Montreal has its shopping malls, its snow in the winter, its beautiful houses with the gardens and the swimming pools, its huge schools, its fresh air and its wonderful greenery ( I lived 5 miles away from the city of Montreal ). Athens has its friendly peaple, its archaeological sites ( you should visit the Acropolis one day ) , its hot climate all year round , its traditions ( from food to music and clothing ), its passion for soccer ( real fanatics here ), its Olympic Games ( 776 BC,first Olympic Games in Greece ). As for which city is the largest I'd say Montreal.

Charleston, South Carolina. I loved it. I love the Southern Charm and style. Being from Natchez, MS, it reminded me so much of home. It was beautiful and the ocean was gorgeous. Plus, I loved Bubba Gump's Shrimp. It was all about Forrest Gump, photos from the movie and more and it was delicious. Rainbow Row has to be one of the most beautiful places in the USA. Yep, Charleston. I would love to go visit again. We lived there 2 1/2 yrs.

Chicago and it was cold and windy! I got blown across the street into traffic by "THE HAWK" against my will a few times! Learned my lesson and decidedI wouldn't go outside anymore in the winter without my husband to use as an anchor! San Diego is the second biggest... it's very nice weather here! : -)

I currently live in Raleigh, NC. I love it here, because there is always something to do. It has a great mix of artsy-ness, sports, and technology. It is one of the bigger cities in NC. People are very friendly here, and there are lots of young singles here (college age to young professionals). Raleigh has a fairly low crime rate. It is like 2.5 hours from the beach, and the same distance from the mountains!
