Here is what the President, the Vice President and Secretary of Defense used to think and wanted us to think:
In October 2003, a banner proclaiming "Mission Accomplished" on the aircraft carrier where President George W. Bush declared an end to major combat in Iraq came back to haunt him as the death toll rises.
Iraq insurgency in 'last throes,' Cheney says May 31, 2005
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The insurgency in Iraq is "in the last throes," Vice President Dick Cheney says, and he predicts that the fighting will end before the Bush administration leaves office.
Rumsfeld dismisses Iraq's 'dead-enders'
Associated Press
Posted 6/19/2003
WASHINGTON - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on Wednesday played down recent deadly attacks on Americans...
Asked at Pentagon press conference about the Iraqi resistance, Rumsfeld described it as "small elements" of 10 to 20 people, not large military formations or networks of attackers. He said there "is a little debate" in the administration over whether there is any central control to the resistance,

Your answer is backwards....
Some support the war, many do not.... I am one of those that do. I believe it was a neccessary war given the information that we (President Bush, Democrats, Republicans, UN, and most of the world) were given at the time. NOW we need to finish and bring our troops home...but not until the job is done!
Rarely do you find "Good News" when the media is reporting... Unfortunately, that is how most people gather their information about anything. Why should the war be treated differently! So, you will see only the "bad" coming out of Iraq.
There has been much good accomplished in Iraq...but you won't see that in the media. The media doesn't show the schools and hospitals that our troops are re-building from terrorist bombings. It doesn't show our troops giving there last field ration to poor hungry mothers and kids. You will have to get this information from returning troops, and letters to home. Many of these soldiers sign back up to return, because they know what they have accomplished and desire to finish. They are proud to be making a difference, and the media should be too...
But..... the negative stuff gets more ratings.
Because it sells...

I think just the opposite is true. The left biased media doesn't report all the good that happens in Iraq. Yes there are good things going on over there. But like with most news, people want the shock value and thats what the media is giving them.
USA Patriot, I would like to address the children comment. I for one have spent 8 years defending this country as an active duty member of the US Air Force. I have also been a true believer in the USA for all 37 years of my life. Not sure how many elections and how much you have been around, but this "child" has done and seen alot.

The mass media makes up "reality" and misrepresents statistics to turn people against the war, not to get approval for it. Example: Cindy Sheehan was created by the media and when she no longer was making an impact she was packed off to obscurity (look for a reappearance in time for next year's primaries!!)

It's just the oposite here in the U.S. the only thing the media reports on is how people hate the war, and of course anything else they can report on to make the troops look bad, and the terrorist look good.

Good question.
And its "approval", not "approvement".
"Big media" if you will has a way of simply repeating what the Pentagon says and calling it news.
Repeating what politicians say word for word and calling it news.
Since the 2000 hook and crook "election", and with the help of Faux 'News', the Repubs have been able to get majority and Big media in general has been sounding like a pentagon mouthpiece since.
With the exception of a few shows like "kieth oberman" of course.
Just my opinion.

Well, they certainly editorialize and claim it's news. But on the whole, I think its much more prevelent for them to point out errors or percieved errors in our handling of the war. Now, whether they do that to sell more papers, incite anger over the war, or to back the liberals.... you be the judge. There is grounds for believing any of the three to be true.
