A full back plays on either the right or left side of the defence. A Centre back plays cental defence.

typically midfielders(centre-back) score goals...whereas defenseman (fullbacks) defend and usually only come up to the half line....but i think Cafu' has gotten a few goals in his career and he is a defenseman...
