hrs. to 35 hrs. From 9a to 5p to 9a to 4p. Any ideas why he would do that to a new employee?

ask for a meeting , just ask, may be cut backs, and instead of letting you ,they cut 5 hours a week, but no matter what, always conduct your self in a professional manner. keep the 3 c's and they are cool... calm... and collective... god luck

It could be that the company is having some financial issues. Maybe everyone else got their hours cut, too.

Profits are probably down and overhead must be cut. The business needs more sales then you will probably see more hours.

Maybe others were complaining. Maybe his business is in a financial bind. You should ask him and stop wondering. There could be a very good reason.
