I need to test my son for marijuana but want to know if anything else comes up. I don't think he would be on anything else but, I also thought he wasn't smoking either. He hasn't showed any signs of being on drugs but I'm not around him all the time, he lives with dad who is a cop and they test him frequently.

Most drug stores offer a couple different home tests, one will test just for one or two things, up to I think 7 different drugs; each one going up in price of course. Just ask the pharmacist. Here they run from about 15.00 to about 30.00

While I can understand and appreciate that as a parent you want to protect your child and ensure he is safe and making the right choices...Have you tried communicating the dangers of drug abuse to him and had an open discussion with him? By you and his father routinely drug testing him, he may feel that you both do not trust him, and may go out of his way to experiment with drugs just to side step your measures in preventing him from doing drugs.

Many teenagers abuse substances that will not come up in drug tests, such as LSD (Can only be found through spinal fluid), GHB, and other synthetic intoxicants. Also, prescription medication abuse is on the rise, and these drugs can usually clear out of the system within 1-4 days, depending on his metabolism. "Huffing" canned substances may not show up either.

I guess my point is to try and maintain an open line of communication and to make an effort to find out who your son associates with. Getting him involved with school activities, an after school job, or other social activities in his free time will also help both you and him in preventing experimentation with drugs.

PS: Hats off to you, though! I can tell you love your son and care about his well being.

there are both. You can get drug tests for specific drugs or for all drugs. Most common testa re marijuana and it will test only for marijuana but if you are afraid that another drug may come up you should get a test that tests for everything.
