The only stipulations that my dress code states is that we cannot wear jeans. I have a pair of white and black city shorts but the white ones are made a fabric that's a bit more casual.

It really depends on your field. The more conservative your field is, the less likely it is to be appropriate. Another consideration is - are you dealing with the public (i.e. clients/customers, etc.)? If so, then it's probably not a good idea.

Usually unless the place is to work with young kids where you can get messy, shorts is not something you can wear to work.

It's not considered conservative enough, and a lot of people get upset when you wear it. They feel you won't take the work seriously. They want you to be able to do the work without any kind of interruption. It's a distraction. It makes men pay more attention to you and not want to do any work.

So keep your shorts for the weekend and get a nice skirt or pant suit to work in.

Usually, I would say no. But the different work places have different dress codes. I think you can make shorts look professional. As long as they are not too casual. Wear a nice shirt to go with it. And make sure it looks tailored and not wrinkle.

I don't think shorts, of any kind, are appropriate for work environment. Unless you work in a shipping department and move a lot. Otherwise you'd be safer and smarter to stay away from those. If you want to be taken seriously and want to move up in the company, dress as professional and classy as you can. You don't see any business women and men who are high in the company, wear shorts or jeans. My advice, don't risk your carrier for a moment of comfort.

Wake up! You are going to work not to a park. There's no chance unless you are the owner of the company (because they make rules and not follow it, but they dress right in a way to be an example) a short can be acceptable at work.
You are working to show your mental abilities not your physical abilities.

You have temporarily lost your mind. Shorts are acceptable to work as long as they come to just above the knees.

If they are casual dressy, you could wear them on a Friday and see if management approves.

If jeans aren't happening, I would not expect shorts to fly either.
