This is a simple exercise in disaster daydreaming. We always hear that this or that will eventually "wipe out life on Earth", but in what order should we fear these events? For instance, should we fear an asteroid impact or the sun turning into a red giant, first? What would a complete timeline of risk look like?

First you need to refine your question. Only the sun going nova will wipe out LIFE on earth.

Human activities are already proving that we can make the future very unpleasant if not fatal to OUR species. Is this your real question?

The sun going nova in 5 to 7 billion years is immaterial if humans don't survive the next 100.

You know what? Mankind will be lucky enough if they see something like asteroid hitting the earth or some natural disaster wiping out life on earth. I believe mankind would be destroyed by killing each other... may be another world war or may be a foolish nuclear attack by terrorists ....

I think we should fear ourselves long before we should fear mother nature. Most of the worlds problems and catastrophes have been caused by mankind. Take a look at what's happening with North Korea and Iran right now.... that's what scares me... not an earthquake or hurricane...

I don't think that I will answer you in the way you are thinking. I will tell you on this subject that only GOD knows exactly when and where and how things will take place. Fear only Him. Trust Him. You can also read in the Bible where it talks about the end times and the promise of the events that will take place before the return of Christ. Scary, yes, but true. Stay close to Him!! Thanks for listening.

The first and most logical is human error. With nuclear experiments and messing with genomes...we'll screw it up somehow before a force of nature does. Maybe a plague of some sort that spreads so quickly we can't stop it....like bird flu.

Now excuse me, I have to start planning for the end.
