An extension has been built beside my house. It is about 200mm away from my wall. The planning drawing was wrong but no authority figure cares

it depends on a cities zoning laws. contact the city courthouse and ask them who could help you figure this out

The general rule of thumb is that no permanent structure may be built within 3 feet of any property line. With that in mind the minimum would be 6 feet. i.e. 3 feet from your house to the property line(fence) and 3 feet to the neighbors house = 6 feet.
