Accept it as a gift. Don't tear it to pieces or return it, because that would be rude. But the guy obviously has a thing for you. if you're not interested, be straight with him. Thank him, but say it's not appropriate for him to paint you any more pictures. And put some distance between you and Picasso Creepo.

I do not know if it means that he is painting your portrait because has a reason to use you as a subject, but because you may be a good subject to paint. The only way to truly know if he really meant something by it is time. He may have just given it to you as a nice gesture or he may really want to know you more. Good Luck!

It is a nice gesture (the apining as a gift) and just means that he cares about you. If you do not feel the same way, there may be other things wrong with this relationship. It may be time to break up ot take some time apart

no, its not polite to tear it up, why would you do that even if you don't want to be serious with him? thats just plain old mean. you can accept the gift and still say you aren't interested in a relationship but tearing up his art work would just be cruel.

Depends, is it a flattering portrait or does it make you look hideous? Either way don't tear it up.
