they are legal. and as far as getting one, it depends on what kind of grant you are talking about. if you're talking about an education grant, talk to your school, if you're talking about a housing grant, call your local HUD office or even your county offices. Of course, you have to be a citizen and you usually have to financially qualify.

Usually the government only preforms legal services.

There are several Government grant programs for all types of interest from Business, Eduction, Technology devopement, land and property development, etc. Many Grants are not difficult to get because there are no applicants or few applicants. This is because the application process is slow and uphill sometimes or the details of the Grant are not highly publicized.

Government grants are surely legal. Whether or not you qualify varies on the individual requirements of the individual grant. If you go to Google search engine, and or even yahoo (which I did not check) I suppose and simply type in government grants you will get many hits that tell you what's available and how to go about applying for them. To one of the previous respondents My searches have revealed several sites that do not want to sell you something. The best place to find out about government grants available and what the qualifications are for them are the ACTUAL Government sites. Such as http://www.whitehouse.gov/ When you get to the URL I have posted here use the search box at the top right and type in government grants and you will get a page that tells you about how many thousands of grants are available and what they are and will take you to another page that helps you figure out how to go about applying for them. Using the actual government sites will get you all the information that the other people want to sell you cause they did the leg work themselves to sell you the information in the first place. I started the search for these with the search on google starting with Government Addresses and went to each one and typed in grants or government grants into each search bar at those addresses. You don't even have to register to find out the info.

I don't know - I see wonderous advertisements of the availability of grants but when I did a search for it all I came up with was books or sites wanting to charge $30-50+ for the information/"hidden secrets". I do not believe advertising claims as ads are designed to sell stuff, period. Without finding anything else I've concluded 98% of them are not something the average person would qualify for. I'd be interested in finding out more information but am not interested in giving these get millions for nothing places my credit card number to do it.
