How can I change my notebook OS from linux to XP ?

When you boot to the Windows CD you will come to a part that allows you to re-partition your hard drive. Use that to delete the Linux partitions. Next create a Windows partition. The rest should be easy.

Boot from your Windows XP disk and follow the instructions

Format first, personally, don't install Windows.

format HDD and install new OS..
