it depends.. you should ask the people in charge of the tanning bed but usually it is 2-3 hours

I was looking up a similar question of my own, and found this in a website written from some woman who likes to brag about her tanning habits. Maybe it will help, although it's probably more opinion than fact. I can't see how water on the outside of the body can slow down or stop melanin on the inside of the body...but whatever...

"...Tan an hour before or two hours after bathing. You skin continues to tan outside the bed but if you shower or take a bath, it stops. .."
